Plastics and polymers, in the midst of the 20th Century, are one of the best innovations and outstanding inventions which have become very important key materials and are highly valued in the industry currently.
PVC extrusion is another form of plastic extrusion, and is the most common material we use to extrude. This involves plastic melted by force through a die so it can be produced into the desired shape. Generally many extruded product applications are determined by its combination of size, shape and physical properties. This is where it can be determined whether or not that specific plastic product can be extruded. It is economical for both industrial and domestic applications.
Unmodified polyvinyl chloride or Rigid PVC is a very hard type of thermoplastic, used in Rigid applications. PVC modified with Plasticisers create flexible extrusions. Many PVC applications that are used in the industry go through the process of extrusion. There are advantages and at the same time disadvantages or limitations of its properties. Below are some of the advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
Its flexibility in a variety of different possible levels of plasticizer
Plastisol processing possible
It is non-flammable
Low in cost
Resistance to weathering
Disadvantages:
Can be attacked by solvents
Limited thermal capability
Density is a bit higher than most plastics
How can we be of help?
Here at Cellular Mouldings Ltd, we have different application services available that we can provide, which we can help out with bespoke to what you want or need.
Unlike many of our competitors we are also are able to supply and provide parts in Low Volume production runs at the same price as higher Volume. This means that you won’t need to pay over odds for any of your lower volume requirements.
You can check our site links for further in depth information or feel free to get in touch with us if you want a further discussion and enquiries in regards to our services through call.
